The four star Crafnant Guest House built in the Victorian era is centrally placed in this tranquil village of Trefriw, just 6 miles from Betws-y-Coed, in the heart of Snowdonia, an ideal central base to explore the Snowdonia National Park and Conwy Valley. Your hosts - Jan & Mike Bertenshaw provide a relaxing place to stay where you can rest assured of a warm welcome.

Many people choose Trefriw as their destination as they appreciate its unspoilt charm and peaceful, relaxing setting away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and crowds yet within easy reach of the busier resorts. There are numerous areas of natural beauty to explore including the beautiful lakes which nestle just above in the wooded valleys. There are many activities and attractions to be enjoyed Bodnant Gardens are just a short drive away. Many guests allow themselves plenty of time to simply wind down and relax.
From the village there are many walks you can take from the doorstep a short stroll over Gower to Llanwrst will take just 30 minutes or you can enjoy a more strenuous walk up to the lakes and enjoy a pot of tea and piece of cake before returning home. We are just 6 miles from Betws-y-Coed and 9 miles from Conwy.
At the end of your day you can park your car in our private car park at the rear of the property and stroll to a choice of three eateries including two traditional village pubs.

The Guest House is appointed to a very high standard and retains its period character, elegance and charm.
Most bedrooms are en-suite and are appointed with your comfort in mind. All have:
* Hand crafted iron beds with fresh white linen
* Colour TV
* Tea & Coffee facilities
* Gas Central heating

For our guests we have two lounges - a smaller one on the ground floor which houses a varied collection of books to suit most interests. A further larger lounge on the first floor where guests can relax in comfort and enjoy a board game or puzzle.

Our full traditional breakfast at Crafnant can sometimes mean you have no need for lunch!
In May 2008 we won a sustainable tourism award - and with our prize money we have bought some hens - which are being looked after by our friend Sue who has a small holding in the hills above Trefriw. In October 2011 we purchased eight more which we collectively look after with our friends two doors down - so we can certainly boast extremely fresh free range eggs - to compliment the excellent bacon and home-made sausages from our local butcher.
